There are more complex varieties – the monkey with a boomerang can deal with more enemies in one throw since his weapon will return to him killing everyone along the throwing curve.
There are basic units that throw, for instance, shurikens or fire guns. Your task is to choose the optimal positions for each of them and keep fending off the bloons until you deal with every last of these creeps. Once there is an enemy unit coming in the range of their attack, the monkey warrior will start doing his job. They won’t move, but they will shoot at the approaching bloons from their fixed positions. On the other hand, you have an army of units (in this case, monkey towers) placed here and there. There is a bunch of enemies coming at along the path that might have different trajectories (and there may generally be several such paths on later levels, so you have to watch out). Nothing of that grim, violent mess you can see in some other tower defense games! Lots of monkey towers to set up perfect defense!Īs to the rules, they are nothing special for the tower defense genre. But when you do, you’ll really get a kick out of it! Bloons TD is really very colorful, and it looks charming and adorable. Since the game it very action-packed, it might take you a while to get used to the amount of moving and exploding details on the screen. You can also tell the difference between all types of bloons by their color and decorations, so you won’t have trouble figuring out which of the enemy kind you’re dealing with now. The monkey towers are animated in a cute way and also smoothly, so even if you switch to fast speed, the game won’t lag.
The gameplay runs from the top-down view allowing you to get a good view of the whole map and see everything that’s going on in its most remote corners.
